Community and Acceptable Use Rules
Standards for profiles, groups, messages, voice rooms, comments, ratings, uploads, course content, and AI tools.
1. Who may participate
Medu is an adult medical-education community for users aged 18 or older. Participate professionally, protect confidentiality, discuss evidence honestly, and remember that other users may be students, clinicians, educators, or members of the public in different countries.
2. Safety and respectful conduct
Do not:
- harass, threaten, stalk, shame, sexually exploit, or encourage harm to another person;
- attack people based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, sex, gender, sexual orientation, disability, disease, or another protected characteristic;
- publish another person's private information, impersonate someone, or coordinate abuse;
- promote suicide, self-harm, dangerous medical challenges, or an emergency response that discourages professional help;
- send unsolicited bulk messages, repetitive promotion, or deceptive links; or
- use voice rooms or messages to record someone without the notice and permission required by applicable law.
3. Patient privacy and clinical material
Do not upload or disclose information that identifies a real patient, including a face, voice, name, contact detail, record number, exact date, unique history, unredacted document, or metadata. Remove identifiers and obtain any permission required before using clinical material for education.
Graphic medical images are allowed only when genuinely educational, lawfully obtained, appropriately contextualized, and free of patient identifiers. Sexual exploitation, voyeuristic material, or imagery posted to shock or harass is prohibited. Report suspected patient-identifying or non-consensual material immediately.
4. Academic, professional, and exam integrity
- Do not request, post, sell, reconstruct, or distribute recalled or confidential live-examination questions or answers.
- Do not submit another person's work as your own, fabricate credentials, reviews, citations, research, clinical experience, or results.
- Do not use Medu to cheat in an active assessment or to complete work where outside assistance is prohibited.
- Label AI-generated or materially AI-edited content when presenting it as your educational contribution and verify its claims.
- Disclose relevant sponsorship, financial interest, or product relationship when making a recommendation.
5. Platform and account security
Do not probe, scan, exploit, disrupt, reverse engineer, or bypass Medu's security, access, quota, moderation, or payment controls without prior written authorization. Do not introduce malware, scrape protected content, automate account creation, manipulate statistics, harvest user data, or use someone else's credentials.
Report a suspected vulnerability privately to support@medu.courses. Do not publish exploit details or personal data before Medu has had a reasonable opportunity to investigate and remediate.
6. Payments, promotion, and commercial conduct
Do not submit false or reused Bankak references, misuse a card or PayPal account, make knowingly false refund or chargeback claims, resell access, trade accounts, or solicit payment through an unauthorized Medu listing. Direct sponsorship and paid promotion must be pre-approved and clearly labelled under the Advertising and Sponsorship Policy.
Creators may not sell through Medu until Medu has approved them and the applicable creator/seller terms are in force.
7. Prohibited content
Do not publish content that is illegal; infringing; fraudulent; defamatory; privacy-invasive; sexually exploitative; intended to facilitate violence, weapons, trafficking, or controlled-substance abuse; or designed to spread malware or steal credentials. Do not upload confidential institution, employer, patient, or examination material.
Medical disagreement is not automatically misconduct. Critique ideas and evidence rather than targeting people. Do not present educational discussion as individualized treatment or discourage someone from seeking qualified care.
8. Reporting and emergencies
Use an available report tool or email support@medu.courses with a link, screenshot, and concise explanation. Do not include more personal or patient data than necessary. For imminent danger or a medical emergency, contact local emergency services; Medu is not an emergency-response channel.
9. Moderation, enforcement, and appeal
Medu may limit visibility, remove content, disable a feature, reverse abusive activity, preserve evidence, warn a user, or suspend or terminate an account. The response considers severity, context, history, harm, and legal duties. Serious safety, fraud, privacy, exam-security, or cybersecurity issues may lead to immediate action.
Where appropriate, Medu will state the reason and allow an appeal to support@medu.courses. A report or appeal does not guarantee a particular outcome, and Medu may limit information that would expose another person's privacy or security.
