Account and Data Deletion
How to close your account, request erasure, and understand the limited records that may need to remain.
1. Before requesting deletion
- Download anything you want to keep. Account deletion is intended to be permanent.
- Cancel any recurring PayPal MEDUPRO, course, or content subscription. Deleting a Medu account does not itself cancel billing at PayPal.
- Resolve pending orders, refunds, chargebacks, support cases, and Bankak reviews.
- Deleting your account can remove course access, paid entitlements, progress, messages, notes, achievements, and community relationships.
2. How to submit a request
Email support@medu.courses from the email registered to your Medu account. Use the subject "Medu account deletion request" and state clearly that you want the account and associated personal data deleted.
Signed-in users may also open a private Customer Support ticket and select the account or privacy category. Include your account email, but never send a password, OTP, CVV, full card number, PayPal password, or Bankak PIN.
3. Identity verification
Medu must reasonably verify that the requester controls the account. Verification may use the registered email, a current authenticated session, an account-security challenge, or limited transaction information. Medu will not ask for unnecessary identity documents or payment credentials.
If an authorized agent submits a request, Medu may ask for signed authority and may confirm the request directly with the account holder where law permits.
4. Data normally deleted or de-identified
After verification, Medu will delete or de-identify personal data that is no longer needed, which normally includes the authentication account, private profile fields, learning progress, saved items, private notes stored by Medu, active social relationships, and content that can reasonably be removed from Medu-controlled systems.
Public posts and comments will be deleted or de-identified where feasible. Content incorporated into a purchased collaborative product, quoted by other users, copied outside Medu, or needed to preserve the integrity of a conversation may be retained without the deleted profile name where appropriate.
5. Limited data that may remain
- Orders, invoices, subscription history, refunds, policy acceptance, and financial records for the period needed for accounting, fraud prevention, payment reconciliation, dispute handling, and applicable legal obligations.
- Security, moderation, abuse-prevention, and legal-claim records for the period reasonably needed.
- A minimal suppression or hashed identifier to honour an opt-out, prevent duplicate payment proof, or stop a serious banned user from immediately recreating an account where lawful.
- Restricted provider backups or disaster-recovery copies until their applicable overwrite cycle completes.
- Aggregated or de-identified statistics that no longer identify you.
Retention is limited to the relevant purpose, and retained data is not used to continue ordinary account activity.
6. Timing and confirmation
Medu will acknowledge and complete a verified deletion request within the period required by applicable law. If more time is lawfully needed, Medu will explain the reason and expected timing. Data in backup cycles disappears later as described above. Medu will send confirmation when the primary deletion is complete, if it can lawfully retain the email long enough to do so.
7. Independent third-party accounts
Deleting Medu does not delete an account or transaction held independently by PayPal, Bankak, Google, YouTube, Telegram, or another provider. Contact that provider directly to exercise rights over data it controls. Medu will send deletion instructions to its processors where required and technically available.
